Technology & IT
$8,250 - $11,000 USD monthly
We’re looking for inquisitive, collaborative interns to join our engineering teams. Working closely with mentors and product, design, data, and backend engineers, you’ll learn how large-scale systems operate and use modern AI-assisted tools to help build new technologies, features, and tools. Expect real projects, supportive teammates, and plenty of opportunities to explore ideas that make a difference for our teams and Pinners.
What you’ll do:
- Demonstrate accountability and quality in your work while receiving support and guidance from your mentor, manager, and peers
- Execute scoped technical tasks end-to-end to help build the future of Pinterest
- Deliver code that is well-documented, tested, and operable
- Leverage AI tools in your daily engineering workflow to accelerate delivery—brainstorming approaches, writing and refining code, and producing clear documentation
- Communicate ideas and perspectives with candor as you grow professionally through learning and development opportunities
- Collaborate with your team and contribute to real projects that impact Pinterest
- Engage with leaders and employees across Pinterest and participate in a variety of optional company events
What we’re looking for:
- Currently enrolled in a degree or education program working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or a related technical field
- On track to graduate by June 2029
- Ability to demonstrate an understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
- Familiarity using AI as a learning, productivity, and engineering tool, and as an iterative coding partner, to accelerate engineering work while exercising strong judgment around accuracy, security, and when to ask for help
- Experience with one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or C++, and familiarity with relevant frameworks, tools, or technologies such as React or similar. Technical requirements vary by team.
- Non-academic coding experience (e.g., hackathons, code challenges, personal projects, GitHub, open source, volunteer coding experience, conference participation, etc.)
- Passion for Pinterest, comfort with ambiguity, and a growth mindset with a willingness to continuously learn
